IA: How reliable are the results of this technology? (Part I).
I was testing the Artificial Intelligence’s responses—not in a quantitative way, but in a more abstract and qualitative manner. I posed a question to two AIs, which I consider the most popular; I won’t name them, but I felt it was crucial that they be from two countries that are fierce competitors.
How did “my contest” go?
I asked them this question: “In both developed and developing countries, how would you control so many people? Using psychology, sociology, and economics as themes, and in extreme cases, military force (whether military or authoritarian—the main goal is control).” The question was for both AIs, and the winner was whoever gave the best answer. Here was another question that the user—that is, me—had to consider: Does this answer satisfy me as a thinking, sentient human being who knows what is good and bad, in accordance with the tastes and interests of the human race?
My evaluation.
I tested the answers from both AIs. I showed the winner the other AI’s answer and asked it to critique it, highlighting the positive and negative points of the report that the “losing” AI had created for me. This latter AI, the winner, satisfied all the answers and conclusions I was looking for. I believe that Artificial Intelligence, rather than merely thinking and providing answers, should reason in a human way, from a consciousness that already understands where we come from and the effort required to sustain us as a human race, regardless of blood, skin color, or country. I’m going to publish both responses, and it’s up to you, dear reader, to give the final score to whichever response you found better; it would be interesting to create a poll to record which AI was the best at answering.

This approach has given rise to scenarios of “algorithmic democracy” or technocracy, where it is assumed that machine-generated solutions are without alternative, displacing human political debate with a logic of technical optimization.
Public perception of this integration is one of growing caution. Opinion data from countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom show that, by late 2023 and early 2025, a majority of the population expresses more concern than enthusiasm about the role of AI in society. There is a well-founded fear that algorithmic governance will erode individual autonomy and democratic legitimacy, especially when citizens perceive that neither governments nor tech companies can implement these tools effectively or fairly.
The Risk of Bias and the Illusion of Objectivity
One of the pillars of political control through AI is its supposed objectivity. However, expert analysis indicates that algorithms can exhibit deep political biases, often more difficult to detect than racial or gender biases. These biases infiltrate recommendation and content moderation systems, allowing one type of individual or ideology to be unfairly privileged over another based on their political orientation. When the state uses these tools for decision-making that affects large groups, the risk of automatically and opaquely marginalizing dissenting voices becomes a structural reality.
The Risk of "Normal Accidents" and Unintended Escalation
The integration of AI into military systems introduces the risk of "normal accidents," where the complexity of the systems makes failures inevitable and difficult to distinguish from an enemy attack. In an environment of political or social tension, an algorithmic error that misclassifies a group of protesters as armed insurgents can lead to a lethal decision in seconds, triggering a spiral of violence that the state can no longer control through peaceful means.
The dispute between AI companies such as Anthropic and the U.S. Department of Defense underscores this tension. When companies attempt to limit the use of their models for domestic surveillance of citizens or for lethal autonomous weapons, the state often invokes national security exceptions or designates the companies as “supply risks” to force technological integration without ethical safeguards.
Conclusions: Toward a Prospective View of Algorithmic Governance
An analysis of AI proposals for population control reveals a landscape where technology acts as a multiplier of pre-existing authoritarian and colonial trends. In developed countries, control is exercised through a subtle technocracy that uses financial and psychological architecture to shape the citizen. In developing countries, corporate and state interference ensures that population management is subordinated to the interests of foreign powers, consolidating a new global hierarchy based on algorithmic sovereignty.
The transition toward military force and caudillismo is not a rupture of the system, but its logical conclusion when probabilistic models of control fail. The "threshold whip" demonstrates that AI, far from being a silver bullet for social order, introduces a volatility capable of destabilizing even the most iron-fisted regimes. The resurgence of the digital caudillo, armed with tools of mass surveillance and capable of mobilizing passions through the manipulation of truth, represents the most acute challenge to human freedom in the 21st century.
The future of individual and national autonomy will depend on the ability to establish technological and legal safeguards that prevent the total militarization of the digital space. Without active resistance that reclaims data sovereignty and demands transparency in governance algorithms, humanity is heading toward a model of “algorithmic despotism,” where the distinction between administrative management and violent suppression fades under the speed and scale of the machine. The challenge for pro-democracy actors lies in demystifying the power of AI, challenging the “panopticon bluff,” and building norms that prioritize human dignity over technical certainty.
